Lip Sync Dress Rehearsal......

Tonight was the dress rehearsal for the "Green Man Group".  I finished making the glow stick costumes this morning...I procrastinated. (Check out my costume tutorial: Glow Stick Costume)  The boys did great. They are all 4th graders. Mine would be the super tall one out of the three in the video. The crowd that was there loved them. Wednesday night is the real thing, but not sure I will get to video it because some how I ended up being in charge of the lighting.

Spring Break....

We have just returned from a fantastic family vacation (Plus one) in Florida.  For the first time, we allowed our 10 year old son to bring a friend on vacation with us. It was an easy choice. He chose his best friend, Cooper. The two have been inseparable for about two years now. That is Cooper on the left, in the above picture. Believe it or not...he is actually 6 months OLDER than my son, Jason.  My son is extremely tall for his age. He towers over all his friends. Cooper fit right in with the family and we enjoyed a lot of fun activities....dolphin tour, Bush Gardens, Universal Studios, beach, pool and a Tampa Rays game. It's good to be home, but we will all miss our fun vacation.

Pretend Play Tool Belts.........

I had a request last Father's Day to make matching Father and Son TOOL BELTS for a special dad and his boy.
I have been making child size tool belts for....ever. I have made over a hundred of them. They whip up fast and the kids love them.
Here is what I came up with for the Father/Son tool belts:

And here are a couple of the child size tool aprons I have made:

T-Shirt Memory Blanket.....

I have been saving my sons t-shirts from all the teams he's played on since he was 4 years old. There have also been a few t-shirts that I have loved and he's outgrown and I have kept those too. I was never quite sure what I was going to do with them. My son needs a new bedspread for his bed and I have decided to turn all those t-shirts into a blanket/bedspread for his bed. The thing that got me going on this; was last week when I was cleaning out his clothes for the new season...I came across a tee that I have always loved on him and couldn't bring myself to put in the donate pile, so I turned it into a pillow for his new "man cave" (game room/tv room) in the basement.

He came home from school and said, "Hey! Cool that used to be my favorite T-shirt!"

This morning, I started cutting all the t-shirts into 8 x 8 squares. This is what I have so far:
I will post again when I am all done (it will be a while)!
But, I am excited about doing this project for him!
